Table 1 reveals that the survey was administered among 68 female and 86 male students. It was conducted among Journalism and Radio-Television-Cinema Department students in Ege University, Faculty of Communication. A vast majority of participants accessed social media via their mobile phone. The highest percentage to the question of how frequent social media is used belonged to 53,2% with the choice whenever I have a chance. Social sharing platforms with the highest membership ratio were respectively WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Among the participants of survey 56% reported to have 300 and higher quantities of friends. 63% of survey respondents reported to use social media for more than 5 years. 61% of survey participants answered to have accepted the requests of only those they knew beforehand whereas only 7% reported to accept the requests of everyone's friendship request.

Relation between Descriptor Statistical Data and Dimensions of the Questionnaire

After descriptor statistical data the relation between gender variable and seven dimensions of the questionnaire was investigated. T-test was administered to measure the relation between gender variable and dimensions among male and female groups (p>0,05). In Table 2 there is an analysis to see if a difference existed among male and female participants with respect to the dimensions of scale.
